Immerse yourself in the landscapes, traditions, and hospitality of rural East Iceland on this unforgettable small-group adventure. You’ll experience life on a working farm, ride the sure-footed Icelandic horse across breathtaking terrain, and gain insight into the region’s deep connection with its horses and sheep.
Over the course of six riding days (Wednesday–Monday), you’ll spend 3–7 hours in the saddle each day (weather dependent), exploring varied riding tracks — from smooth tölt paths to mountain trails, and even riding alongside a free herd. On the second Tuesday, we take a scenic sightseeing route back to Egilsstaðir.
This tour is suitable for novice to experienced riders — our guides match the pace and routes to your skill and comfort. After each day’s ride, you can unwind in a local swimming pool or soak in hot tubs, letting the day’s adventures settle in.
All meals are included — hearty Icelandic breakfasts, picnic lunches, and delicious farm-style dinners. Please let us know in advance if you have any allergies or dietary preferences (e.g., vegetarian).
We provide rainwear, a saddle bag, and a riding helmet, everything you need to ride in comfort and enjoy every minute with your horse.
